Shimmer Body Art

Shimmer Body Art Glitter Tattoo Kits

The latest trend in temporary body art is definitely glitter tattoos. They started out as fun temporary tattoos to get at carnivals, amusement parks, and parties, but now they’re available to do at home. As with any other product, there are many different options to choose from.
Shimmer Body Art

Now that glitter tattoos are available to do at home, Shimmer body art has become the brand many recognize. Shimmer body art frequently airs commercials on TV and can be easily found online and that exposure generates demand for glitter tattoo products. The basic Shimmer’s body art kit is small but features fun designs for everyone.

Through their commercials, Shimmer body art offers two different kits. Their Standard Kit features 12 different stencils, 4 body glitter colors- blue, pink, silver, and purple, 2 brushes, and dermatologist tested body glue. All of Shimmer’s body art standard kits feature the same colors and stencils so there is limited variation in styles. Also, the basic kit’s colors are mini sizes so don’t expect much as far as how many tattoos you can actually get out of it. Shimmer body art also offers a Deluxe Kit that features 40 stencils, 12 glitters, 2 brushes, and 2 body glues. As with the Standard Kit, all of the Deluxe Kits feature the same colors and stencils as well. The size of each glitter in the large kit is still very small but you do get plenty of colors to work with.

You can also find smaller Shimmer body art kits on the shelves at stores such as WalMart and Toys’R'Us. The kits in stores feature only 10 stencils, 3 glitter colors, 1 brush, and body glue. However, sometimes it appears as if there are 2 different brands called Shimmer because the TV and Retail packages look so different.

In their commercial, Shimmer body art is done by applying the stencil, brush on the glue, and then take off the stencil before applying the glitter. Being a glitter tattoo artist, I do recommend leaving the stencil on while you add glitter. The design will look much better, cleaner and a lot more accurate.

After you apply the glitter, you’ll have a Shimmer body art tattoo that can last up to 7 days. The company that produces shimmer body art is one of the first to offer glitter tattoos at home.
Glitter Tattoo Kits

There are many different styles and sizes of glitter tattoo kits. Smaller kits can be found in different store locations and most feature between 10-15 stencils and 3-4 glitter colors. All kits do feature a body glue and at least one brush. Most glitter tattoo stencils are reusable, so depending on the kit, you can use stencils at least 3 times.

Many online stores carry glitter tattoo kits as well. Glitter tattoos are fun for all ages so you can find something for everyone. If you’re looking for a glitter tattoo kit to start your own glitter tattoo party business, then online is the best place to look. You can find large kits that contain at least 35 colors and many different stencils that will allow you to start doing parties.

Temporary Tattoos

When temporary tattoos were first created for sale in the late 1800′s, they were small transfer style tattoos that you would find inside of a pack of bubble gum.

In the 1890′s, you could find them as the prize inside of a .05 cent box of Cracker Jacks®. Now you can still get them as prizes inside snacks and they are sold on their own almost anywhere, even on the shelf at grocery stores. There are designs for all ages and are inexpensive. As temporary tattoos have changed over the years, there are a lot of great places where you can get this form of body art. At almost every school fair or carnival, you can get transfer temporary body art or face painting, another fun kind of temporary body art, done at a booth. They’re both simple and don’t take very long to do, so they’re perfect to do and get done at fairs and carnivals. Getting a tattoo at fairs or carnivals is relatively inexpensive and usually only costs around $1 and face painting can be up to $5.
Amusement parks are another fun place to get your body art. One of the newest trends to get at amusement parks is airbrush tattoos. Airbrush tattoos have been around since 1998 and are one of the most realistic looking kinds of tattoos. The designs can be as small as only an inch or two or can be large and intricate. The whole process of getting an airbrush temporary tattoo from picking the design, applying the stencil, selecting colors, airbrushing them on, and being finished takes under five minutes. The average cost of airbrush temporary tattoos at amusement parks is between $10 and $15, depending on the size of the design.
If you are looking to get a temporary henna tattoo when going to a fair or carnival, renaissance fairs are the best place to get them. Henna tattoos are a bit more intricate, the simple designs usually take around 5-10 minutes to apply and take 6-8 hours to set. But they can last up to two or three weeks. Temporary henna tattoos are beautiful and are always a conversation starter. Costs of getting a temporary henna tattoo can vary, also depends on the size like airbrush tattoos, but usually run between $6 and $12 to get done.
Temporary tattoos of all kinds are also sold in many different stores. Temporary transfer tattoos are never more than $10 for a full pack of them. Temporary henna tattoos are a bit harder to find in stores, especially finding the right products and ingredients can be tricky. So definitely do some research before and then buying online is one of the better options.
You can also get temporary tattoos online from many different online stores, costs will vary depending on how many you order and any shipping costs. If you’re putting on an event where you want to have temporary tattoos as an activity, buying online would be your best option for cost.
The latest trend in temporary tattoos is getting glitter tattoos. They are rising in popularity and can be found at many amusement parks, carnivals, and fairs. The designs are always fun and they last up to 7 days. Depending on where you go to get one, the price can vary quite a bit.
If you live in the Los Angeles area, we have three glitter tattoo stations at our three different locations. We’re located at the Topanga Plaza, Northridge Fashion Center, and the Sherman Oaks Galleria. You can come by and learn how to do, and get, a glitter tattoo.
